Advisor: Mr. Nicolò Doglioni, Geologist Project Description:
Construction of a new residential building a few meters away from an historical one, dating back to the 18th Century. The assignment included the dimensioning the supporting structures needed to stabilize the temporary excavation linked to the laying of the new building foundation. A model calibrated on the excavation-slope-perpendicular-section has been developed. This model has been calibrated on the section with the worst stability conditions allowing the planning of the necessary steps to ensure the stability of the excavation and therefore of the building.
Activities Performed:
Geomechanical study of the slope stability.
Planning of proper intervention.
