Owner’s Engineer for the Construction of River Gee Hydropower Plant
2.7 MW run-of-river hydropower plant on the Gee River, within River Gee County, which will connect to the currently extended 33kV cross-border transmission line
The project will provide a clean, reliable, sustainable and affordable source of energy to River Gee and Maryland counties, thereby securing power supply in the region.
The best option has been chosen after an attentive analysis of cost/benefit ratio.
The objective of the assignment is to carry out detailed engineering design including site-specific investigations and surveys for the main infrastructure components of the project, prepare bidding documents for the Work contract, and assist the Client with the overall management and supervision of the procurement and implementation of the Works.
Included in the assignments are also the supervision of the implementation of the Safeguards Instruments (ESMP and RAP) for the project, and provision of assistance to the Client in the recruitment and training of the Operators of the proposed facility, the training in various engineering areas and in the management and maintenance of electrical facilities to include use of renewable energy resources.
The detailed design has been successfully finalized and the construction contract has been awarded according to ENCO’s tender documents and under ENCO assistance.
