Advisor: Mr. Nicolò Doglioni, Geologist Project Description:
The «Palinuro Arch» is a limestone arch located close to the Palinuro village. Considering its structural characteristics and its high environmental value, we proposed special techniques of intervention allowing to consolidate the structure preserving its value. The securing operations saw the use of stainless steel bars, hexagonal mesh networks, cable mesh panels, anchors and resins. After the completion of the structural consolidation, a restoration phase, consisting in the fixation of all the rocky flakes that couldn’t have been removed has started and it concluded with the placement of linear resistive transducers to keep the structure monitored
Activities Performed:
Planning the intervention needed to secure the area from rocks falling from the arch and to ensure the safety situation of the Palinuro bay
